Validation programme for professional qualification as a logistics assistant in healthcare
What the profession involves
The logistics assistant in healthcare performs support, logistical and housekeeping tasks to promote the comfort of the care recipient. They will:
- perform support, logistical and housekeeping duties,
- ensure safe hygiene in the common areas and rooms,
- care for the living environment of the care recipient,
- provide meals, supporting the care recipient as needed,
- inform the care recipient about and provide support during activities,
- transport the care recipient and assist them with movements at the request of the manager or supervisor,
- track product inventory and submit orders,
- distribute materials such as medication, lab samples and nursing supplies,
- perform simple administrative tasks,
- take care of easy sterilisation of small materials.

If you want to demonstrate your experience as a logistics assistant in healthcare at a validation test centre, you do so through a practical test and role playing.
The tests’ instruction language is Dutch.
You will be tested on your ability to:
- plan and organise assigned tasks,
- provide meals for care recipients,
- take care of the care recipient’s laundry,
- maintain and clean a minimum of one room,
- perform a minimum of one simple sterilisation of a small item,
- support the care recipient in moving around,
- communicate and act professionally with the care recipient,
- collaborate with the supervisor and the care actors involved,
- help in emergency situations.
