Predicting the probability of moving

This project investigates the possibility of predicting the probability of moving for citizens on the basis of register data. If successful, these predictions can be translated into a new relocation statistic. No individual relocation opportunities will be published. If this project shows that it is possible to predict relocation probability, this project can be expanded with the aim of publishing relocation probabilities at an aggregated level.

This project uses a sample of pseudonymised registry data.

This project uses aggregated population data at the municipality level.

In this project, machine learning models are trained with historical relocation data to make a prediction of individual moving probability.
