The Data Science Hub of Statistics Flanders produces new statistics about Flanders using data science techniques and new data sources.

In a society in which more and more data is generated, it is important that we closely follow new technologies and developments in the field of data sources and statistical methodologies and that we can integrate them in the development, production and dissemination of Flemish Public Statistics.

Projects

The Data Science Hub produces new statistics. The hub consists of a team of data experts who, in collaboration with domain experts, identify opportunities and ensure that they are realized.

Education

The Data Science Hub organizes data science courses. In this way, members of the Statistics Flanders network can acquire the right competencies to leverage the opportunities provided by data science techniques and new data sources.

Partnerships

Due to the diverse and often complex nature of these new data sources and techniques, collaboration with partners at home and abroad is essential. For example, the hub works together with government institutions, knowledge institutions and industry to achieve its objectives.
