The first pillar is the Oosterweel connection that closes the ring road. The second pillar is the Harbour Route. This must ensure that traffic that doesn’t have to be in Antwerp can go around the city in a wider arc. The third pillar, the modal shift, wants people to move away from cars and trucks, towards proper alternatives, both for passenger and freight transport. The fourth pillar is liveability. The fifth pillar is participation, which ties everything together.
