Psychiatric care homes
Psychiatric care homes offer residential care to adults and elderly people with severe, prolonged psychiatric problems.
These are people who:
for psychiatric reasons require support in their daily activities, but who do not need permanent medical care
do not need permanent physical care
require support to promote their inclusion and participation in society
are not, or not yet, capable of living independently. They need someone they can call on at short notice when that proves necessary.
A psychiatric care home offers these people ‘residential recovery care’.
