Festive celebration of 10 years of OSLO
OSLO, “Open Standards for Linked Organisations”, existed 10 years, and we want to celebrate. An event not to be missed on Friday 3 June at the Handelsbeurs in Ghent.
OSLO began in June 2012 as an ambitious idea. The project was launched as a start-up by V-ICT-OR and later continued to grow under the wings of Digital Flanders. Today we count 123 standards and 55 candidates or standards in development. So we have not only grown up, but we are also ready for the challenges ahead. Reason enough to mark this milestone together with you.
Digital Transformation and Open Standards - the future of OSLO
More and more organisations and companies are (or will be) ‘digitally transformed’. This means that they are not only going to digitise their processes but that they are going to think and act truly digitally. In other words, they not only see technology as a means to implement the business strategy but also as a source of inspiration for re-designing their value proposition. As a result, companies and organisations must anticipate the needs of their customers and will innovate their business strategy with and through technology.
Open standards will play a crucial role in this digital transformation because they can link these three components: masses of data, unlimited connectivity and processing power. OSLO makes this possible. Especially where governments, knowledge institutions and private parties meet. For OSLO, this is an incremental step toward the future.
A festive day full of inspiration not to be missed
In the Handelsbeurs, we bring a series of inspiring lectures and a debate. Sir Tim Berners-Lee joins the event with a message at 10h50. Throughout the day, you will have the unique opportunity to be inspired by Barbara Van Den Haute, Eddy Hartog, Eddy Van der Stock, Steven Latré and Dries Depoorter, among others. Your colourful host is none other than Bart Rosseau.
